I was given an Evinrude 2cycle twin cylinder. Would like any information avalible. Seriel # is 3012-48342. I know that the mixture ratio is 16:1.
The lower cover says lightwin. It is direct drive and the throttle-advance is controled by a level coming thru the case. Thank you.

Re: evinrude i.d.

Hi Crooked,
If you're using high quality oil and quality gasoline (89 seems to be more consistent than 87) then you should be able to lean out the oil to 24:1 without any problem. It'll be a little less smokey, will build up less carbon internally and you'll be less likely to foul a plug. Today's TCW3 oils are MUCH better for the motors than the regular SAE-30 they recommended back in the day...
- Scott
