2nd model # location on evinrude?

hey all<br />i am looking at buying what i believe is a mid-80's 20hp evinrude manual start s.s. the serial/model# plate is missing off of the side of the mount. is there a second set on the motor or somewhere else? i dont think i'm going to buy it if i cant find a set of #'s. thanks.<br />LM

Don't know about the other model and serial number. On old ones, there was a plug that is was stamped on on the side of the block. If the plate was missing on the side of the transom mount, I would be careful it is not stolen.
