Small boat insurance

Hi All,<br />I am going to buy a small open dayboat (less than 14ft) and I was wondering if in the UK you need insurance. If yes, who is a decent company and how much do they charge. Thanks,<br />Anglersam :cool:

I am not in the UK...and have no idea of the laws.<br />BUT......<br />Regardless of any laws-<br />Anytime you use your boat (no matter how small) you expose yourself to liability. Even if local laws do not require any insurance, a liablity policy is a good idea. I would not rely on a homeowners policy to protect my assets.
