I just replaced the motor on my boat with an Evinrude 115 v4. It should be somewhere in the range of 1978-1982.

I would like to know what fuel/oil ratio to use. I've also heard that some of these motors have a VRO (oil injection) system on them. Does that mean I don't add oil to the gas? How do I know if my motor has VRO?

Also, what is the WOT RPM range? I've got a 13.75 X 17 prop on my 16' tri-hull and I have a feeling that I am a bit underpropped.

Thanks

You might try looking for an oil reserviour (say 2.5 gal) and checking owners manual. If no VRO, 50:1.

WOT 5500-6000 RPM, try to prop for 5800 typical load.

I'm getting 5000 rpms at WOT. Do you think I'm propped correctly?

No.

Try raising the motor if you have the type prop that will allow it. Whats the water pressure? Is the motor running correctly?

Good luck!

The motor runs great. When running at WOT (5000 rpms), it is screaming. However, I do believe that it is sitting quite low in the water. The top exaust holes are on the water line.
