weight displacement

I just bought a new 14' jon boat, that has a 36" bottom, and a 60" beam. I don't know how my 9.5 evinrude will perform on it, but I am eager to take it out and see. Could someone tell me the best layout for the weight in my boat? Will it be okay if I keep the battery and gas tank in the back of the boat? MY old jon boat was long and very narrow (40" beam), and just a little wight in the wrong place made it sit too high in the fornt, and made it more unstable. Does anyone know if my 9.5 will perform any better on my new boat just because it is wider and much more stable in the water? Thanks

Brent

Re: weight displacement

Your just going to have to experiment. I would place the gas tank foward of the rear most seat.

Bob

Re: weight displacement

I keep my batteries up in the front of the boat. Mine is 14' but the bottom is wider than yours.
