On my 1973 Evinrude 65 hp, which I have put approx. 6 hours on since I bought it, there is approx. 1/8 turn at prop.(left or right) before gears engage. Is this acceptable or will I be looking at a rebuild soon ?
I have not heard any unusual noises while running, but I do not have enough history with this outboard to know if it is or not.

Any info. would be great...........RH
