I just replaced the head gasket on my 30 hp evinrude ( I was getting a little water in the top cylinder). When I was replacing the head gasket I also replaced the thermostat which was stuck open and apperantly has been stuck open since I bought the motor under a year ago. My question is I now have a stream of water shooting from the little hole just above the cavitation plate. Before this hole would just drip a little oil after running but it didn't shoot water when flushing the motor. Should there be water streaming from this hole? Was there no water before because the thermostat was stuck open? Could I have another leak somewhere maybe the exhaust cover. The motor seems to run fine compression is 122 lbs. in both cylinders.
