Evinrude Motor Identification

I need some parts for a used motor we bought. It is an Evinrude 40 HP Model# 40253E. Need some things like wiring harness, engine cover seal, starter, and shop manual. But I can't do this till I find out the year! Anyone out there to help?

OK, found the ID I needed. It is a 1972....
