Default Enterprise center console

Hi everyone. I'm a first time boat owner. Well, sort of. My dad is getting on in years & is giving his boat to me. It's an Enterprise center console that I've never seen and there seems to be very little info about it available. The manufacturer went out of business in 1992. Does anyone know anything specifically about this type of boat? I'm driving out to the Midwest soon to trailer it home and I want to prepare myself for anything it may need to transport and put in the water. At any rate, watch out...there will soon be another of those new owners creating mayhem at the ramps on the Chesapeake! Thanks in advance for any info or advice.

Actually, I asked for any info anybody might provide to help me prepare for trailering, transport & launch of this craft. I intend to look it over once I get it but I need some preliminary info if it's available. Thanks.

Check and grease the wheel bearings before you hook the rig to your truck.Make sure you use a strap to tie the boat to the trailer and if you are a boat US member, call and get the trailer insurance for an extra $15 a year.Charlie

Thanks Crazy. That's the kind of help I'm looking for. I'm not very experienced where boat ownership is concerned and don't know the basic things most of you know out-of-hand. I appreciate the help.

Made it home in one piece. Er...make that two. The windscreen didn't exactly like the steady beating of 60 mph winds & the brass fastening screws finally gave way due to fatigue. The boat is a cool little 15'9" center console with a 35 Merc & a 6 Nissan kicker my Dad just added last year. It's fully equipped w/ live well, Humminbird, electric trolling motor, running lights, and a lot of accessories.I plan to spend a couple of weeks cleaning her up but she appears to be ready to go in the water now. I can't wait!Any suggestions about cleaning up the bottom finish on a fiberglass hull will be greatly appreciated as I want her to allow the water to flow freely along beneath me.Yay!!!

Heyyyyy! I finally got er in the water last week! After letting her sit for most of a year while I was building a patio and walls in the back yard, I took my boat to the shop and had a few things seen to. I had her up to the lake last Thursday and launched without a hitch (by myself, no less ).The engine started with the first turn of the key and she ran like a charm! The only hitch was the anti-reverse ratchets locking up when I tried to lift the motor. I haven't had an opportunity to work on that yet because of work but, all in all, it was a great day!

Professor,I'm in the same boat. I also just picked up an Enterprise and can't find any info on her or the company. I hear the company was out of Florida. Have you had any luck getting info? Mine is a 1989 Enterprise 240 Coastal, it has dual consoles sitting far to stern leaving the entire front of the boat open for fishing pushed by a 200 Evinrude. Its similar looking to the boat pictured in the iboatsmall add for Taylor Mooring Whips but without the cuddy. By the way, does anyone know who makes that boat in the Taylor Mooring Whips ad in the link below? http://www.iboats.com/mall/index.cgi...****=146350435 Tom
