I recently purchased a 5.5 (CD 17, 1960) and took it out on the lake. The engine seem to start and run fine to a novice like me. Two questions:<br /><br />1) Water came out through the pump on when going at forward at a good speed. Light smoke came out of the water pump hole when idiling. Water did not stream out, but sprayed out at low pressure. Is this normal?<br /><br />2) What sort of preventative maintenance should I do to keep the engine in good working order?<br /><br />Thanks ..Brian
