Need new style Pivot Pin for throttle linkage on 1986 30HP Johnson

The pivot pin on the throttle linkage keeps popping out when at high speed due to<br />increased spring tension and motor vibration, thus killing the motor. It consists of the <br />pin, a washer, and a plastic clip. It is not designed to have a retainer clip, key or <br />other to keep it in place. I'm sure this is not a new problem and am wondering if <br />Johnson has a new design for this pin or if anyone has successfully rigged it. I'm<br />thinking a hex head shoulder bolt inserted through the bottom may work.

Hi<br /><br />If your replace the plastic clip, which is almost next to nothing, problem is solved.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. The clip doesn't appear damaged, but it certainly could have been distorted over the past 16 years.
