Rewired the wiring harness..we have forward...had neutral 2 or 3 times and reverse once...someone told us the problem is in the lower unit...a "plunger" might be clogged or the magnets might need replaceing.....any ideas?
The electric shift involves two wires.On a 69 85hp it is green and blue.Green is neutal, blue is reverse.Sort of To get Neutral supply +12V to the green wire.To get Reverse, supply +12V to BOTH wires.If getting the electrics right doesn't solve your problem, then it is time todrop the lower unit. From there you probably want to have access to amanual.Mike
