I just finished a tune up on my newly acquired 1985 4 1/2 HP Merc, put it in the barrel and it started first pull! I ran it for about 20 minutes and noticed a very tiny and intermittent water spit coming out the exhaust. The "pee hole" was a consistant stream. Is the water with the exhaust normal? I never noticed it with my 20 hp Evinrude.

thanks

Yes, Water in the exhaust ports on the back of the motor is normal and a good sign. Happy boating.

Craig

i have a evinrude 18 horse. i believe it is a 1970. when it runs, it doesnt put out a steady stream of water from the "Pee hole" i dont know anything about these and am new to the boat world. a guy told me to use a air hose and blow any junk out of the hole, but if that doesnt work, what do i do?
