Default 1989 48 spl Evinrude spark plug gap.

I'm looking for the spark plug number(Champion) and gap for a 1989 evinrude 48 SPL (SPL 48) Model #E49ESLCER, I was told it was a 50hp motor! Any help would be nice!

SOCIOPATH..... I assume that the number of E49ESLCER is a typo, and that it should have been E48ESLCER. The engine is not a 50hp, it is a 1989 48hp Evinrude. The spark plugs should be Champion QL77JC4 plugs, with the gap set at .040.

My 1989 Evinrude 48hp SPL that I just bought has Champion QL78YC in it and I was told at the shop that .030 was the gap setting???
