1977 175hp evinrude upgrade?

Will a 235 hp baby butt exhaust fit my 1977 175hp evinrude. Will I gain any horsepower or will I have to change the powerhead to acomplish this, providing that they will interchange. My boat is a hydra sport 17' with jack plate and raker 24 pitch prop. It will run 65 mph and I want to get it into the 70's.

The best thing to do is get a parts break down with part numbers on both motors and see where the differences are. You will find that it is a lot cheaper to just get a bigger motor than try and get more horsepower out of yours.
