EVINRUDE ID?

I have been left an old evinrude by my grandfather. can someone pls tell me more about it. someone has id'd it as an evinrude but thats all the could say. the only two numbers i can find on it are:<br />H0001080. and there is a number ubove it,<br />40605R. pls help. many thx :confused:

That's a 1976 40 hp. 40605 is the model number which is most important to know if you ever need to order parts for it. It should be run on a 50:1 fuel/oil ratio.<br /><br />-John
