Going to replace the timer sensor on my 1991 Johnson 150 90 degree cross flow, would like to know if it's a good idea to put an upper crankcase seal while I'm at it? Don't know how much is involved or if its a simple thing. Someone let me know! Thanks.

It's very simple if you have the right tool to remove the seal without removing the bearing housing. Or you can pull the housing, no big deal. Why do you want to change it?

Good luck!

DHadley: slight drool on top of engine. Real scientific method for determining seal: Bent down and blew on seal, couple of drops of thin oil came out of seal from around crankshaft- figured while I'm there might as well, you know?
