which one better engine ?

I have a 1966 18 hp evinrude and a 1967 20 hp mercury the evinrude runs ok and the merc has carb problems wondering which one to keep and rebuild ..thanks Roger

You are buying a 30 year old motor ...who is closer, the merc dealer or the johnrude guy???who will sell you parts? call either one of them and ask them if they would even work on it....providing you dont want to, that is...remember, its all crap when its broke, and 30 years dont help...
