150 EVINRUDE LOWER UNIT REMOVAL

95 model 150 evinrude. I took the nuts loose on lower unit. It dropped about an 1/8 of an inch and won't come off. I'm afraid to hit it. What am I doing wrong.<br />Thanks

If its like my '92 200, you need to remove the cowling ( 3/4 screws ) for easy access then remove the pinion bolt (under the carbs) which secures the lower unit shifting rod to the shift lever gadget thingy... I hope this helps.

That was it. Got the impeller in and lower unit back on. Thanks.
