Johnson Head Gasket

I have a 55HP Johnson (1968) with a blown head gasket. I picked up a new one and am interested in finding out if anybody knows what the torque specs are for the head bolts. Thanks.

Final torque is 18 ft lbs. Start in the center and work your way out. Do it in 4 steps. Snug, 14 lbs, 18 lbs and 18 to recheck. Retorque after 1/2 hour, 5 hours and 10 hours run time. You did surface the head and block, right?<br /><br />Good luck!

We did surface both the head and the block and everything looks good. Will torque the bolts as suggested. Thanks much Dhadley.
