1970 evinrude 60hp

hello,<br />i have a 1970 60hp evinrude motor. when i give it full power it chokes as if it is running out of gas. i had the carbs cleaned and it got a bit better, but not fixed. with half power it runs ok. any thought as to what my problem is??? thanks

Howdy Adam. Could be fuel starvation due to a weak fuel pump, restricted line from your tank, plugged up filter. Could be your ignition isn't being advanced all the way. Start at your fuel tank and follow the fuel path until it's in the Carbs. Check the linkage between the throttle and magneto.<br />Good luck.<br />JB
