I have a 1990 88hp Johnson OB and have discovered that the threads on one of the cylinder heads has become stripped. I don't think the plug is seating true to the head's surface. Can this be fixed by a helicoil without disassembling the motor?? If I pay a mechanic to fix it how many hours do you think this job will take??<br /><br />My motor misfires a bit and makes it hard to start. It sounds like it's running strong at idle then instantaneously "hiccups" once and stalls. After it's all warmed up and I run it a bit it doesn't stall out anymore.
