I just picked up a '60 boat with a 75 HP Evinrude motor on it. I'm curious how you plumb water to the motor to work on it. I've seen the "muffs" that are used on the newer motors, but this one doesn't seem to have water inlets on the side of the motor. Am I missing something?

Thanks,

Michael

Michar
I put my 58 50hp in a trash can filled with water, keep the water on so it stays full, and don't put it in gear!
Richard

Assuming that it works the same way that my 1960 Lark 40 does, then the water intake is through the screened back fin that sits above and out from the prop.

Tempo makes a product for running garden hose water into it. You can order it through West Marine. Got mine last year. About $30 on special order, but works great and, being all metal, should last many years.
