Here it goes again lol. Here in Minneapolisour fuel is oxygenated, but we can find a few places with non-oxygenated 91 octane. Oddd1 and Grubbs marine at oldmercs.com said that would probably be the better of the choices that I have. Oddd1 also mentioned that going .2 ( I believe , have to re check his post ) larger on my jets would also curb the lean running conditions with oxygenated fuel. The current copy of the Clymers Merc book at my library says to run 89 octane for this vintage engine, but it makes no mention of the ethanol issue. So what do you guys think? The more opinions the better. I noticed the person who posted this message is also from Minnesota too. There is a bunch of ethanol in this state. Heck, we gotta sell the corm somewhere...

oh, I forgot to mention, this is a link to another bit of info. www.maxrules.com/fixnewsletter.html. If you page down to a post from 8-18-2000 there is another opinion re 87 octane.I also found some interesting tidbits searching google.com under oxygenated fuel, and also non oxygenated fuel, there were some real interesting article links as well.
