I'd be surprised if it didn't use a 50:1 fuel/oil ratio, but I wouldn't swear to it. Walt

My 1962 Evinrude 28HP has a instruction label on the inside of the cover where the pull start cord comes through. It includes the fuel mix ratio which is 24:1 (1 qt oil for 6 gallons fuel). Some people seem to think that 50:1 would work in it but as a wise man once told me, the carbs are calibrated for 24:1. That is what I am sticking with - it is a little more expensive but I feel a lot more secure in using what the manufacturer designed it for...
