'72 johnson 125hp charging sys. bridge wiring question.

Someone with simple stator/bridge rectifier type charging sys. knowledge can answer this question. Rectifier has 3 wires (2 from stator and 3rd goes where? I bought this boat for next to 0$$$$$ and it runs.Battery 12.5V(charged overnight)Previous owner did alot of mygiver type wiring to bridge and before I take it to lake,want to run some test on the basics.I have a 1972 Johnson 125Hp Mdl#125esl72r. any help would be greatly appriciated!

Hi Seabiscut<br />The third wire (red) goes to the battery, via the bus-bar, via the starter selenoid. If I were you I would obtain a manual and go over this unit with a fine tooth comb before even thinking about putting to sea. I know, there is no adventure in that.
