Another Evinrude Year Question

I have a late '70's Evinrude 6 HP Fisherman, Number is 6802R-E11370. This is off the plate on the leg just beneath the cowling. No other number was located. Anyone know what year it is? Next question IS where do I get a new impellor and how do I change it on this model? Just drop the foot and disconnect the linkage or does the powerhead have to come off? This has been sitting in the garage for 15+ years and I just fired it up on the third crank and everything worked like a charm. Still, that old impellor may have gotten brittle...Thanks for your help in advance!! THIS IS GONNA BE PUSHING A NEW SCANOE IN COLORADO IN TWO WEEKS! :cool:

Hi.<br />It is a 1968.<br />You can get your impeller at your local boat store,or at a napa store.<br />I do not know the exact type of your lower unit,so the best I can advise you is to buy a manual for your engine and that will help you change your impeller and maybe all other dried out rubber before you go on your trip.<br />good luck.
