Howdy, Earlybird. My manual on the similar Johnson model says to set both sets of points at .020.You really need a manual to work on that ignition system. Try your local library. For parts that your Evinrude/Johnson dealer cannot supply, try Twin Cities Outboard in Minneapolis.Red sky at night. . .JB

Here's a website that sells repair manuals for that engine: http://www.intertecsales.com/Interte...s.asp?GRPID=30

Hi, Novacaine.I agree that setting the points is no problem, after you post for help.If you intend to work on your own engine, even if you have been wrenching for 50 years, you either need a manual or a brain transplant.Red sky at night. . .JB
