1996 evinrude 175hp with us marine tach

I have a 1987 trophy. It came with a us marine tach (20 pole) with a switch for 4 positions. Which position is correct for a 1996 175hp evinrude ocean pro refit (12 pole)?????

Thanks Bob, but the information I already knew. What I nee to know is what setting on the us marine (force) tach equals the 6 pole necessary for the omc motor. I guess I can try each setting until I think it corresponds. Are there any tachs available for 6P with a 6" dia body and square face plate? Thanks again for the link.
