im thinking of buying a bow mount trolling motor, riptide saltwater. i have an old riptide on there now but the new ones seem to mount differently. so i was wondering when the prop is in the water does it matter which side? does this sound dumb?
Re: does it mater what side for bow mount trolling motors
Not dumb, Braxton.

I have mounted Minn Kota PDs and APs on both sides of Boston Whalers. I noticed no difference in performance or operation.

Most are on the opposite side of the driver so's that water don't spray in your face when you're tooling from hole to hole. Mine's dead center but I have the deck space. As long as it's in the center of the bow when it's down, you're golden.

spots
