trim tilt position gauge problem

have lund 2001 18 fisherman with 2001 115tlrz yamaha 4-stroke. trim-tilt gauge is stuck a little past 1/2 mark and stays there. tilt works fine.any ideas on where to start troubleshooting this problem ? thanx in advance......bill

If the guage is stuck registering 1/2 and doesn't move (with the power off?), I'd say most likely you have a bad guage.

found the problem! plastic trigger was broken. when i activated the tilt sensor? manually the gauge works. thanks much for the input...bill
