Hey People. I just rebuilt my Merc 350 in a Bayliner 2750 Victoria (27Ft.) It ran great. I went to launch it to test it out and as I was adjusting the idle my screwdriver touched the coil and I assumed shorted it out. I lost all power completley. My battery gauge doesnt even work when the key it in Run. Its just like the battery selector switch is all Off.
I assume I blew a fuse or burnt a wire. What are typical fuse box placements? Mine are behind the Dash Board accessable via the Head. Is it possile that there are bigger/alternate fuses somewhere else on the boat I might have overlooked? I dont think there are because the engine is an oldschool chevy 350. All mechanical, no fancy electronics.

Re: No Power

Take a look near the battery. It is common to have 2 wires off the positive terminal. The first and heaviest is for the starter and goes to the engine.

The second, and thinner goes to the guages and fuse block. It should have an inline fuse near the battery. Check it.
