I have a "tired" (1989) Minn Kota power dive 28 lb trolling motor. The smallest size they make now is 40lb. I was looking at Gander Mtn today and was thinking of getiing the new motor. But to my suprice it only has two wires coming out of it and my current setup has the 3 prong male adapter that gous into a nice plate witha light and a tilt/trim switch.

My questions are:

Can I make the motor/plug combo work? How?

The wiring is factory. Will it be fused and be the right gause? I do not want to take the floor out of the boat if I do not have to.

A little more info. The boat is a 1989 Sea Nymph Fishing Machine. Side Consule with a fusebox under the consule.

Thanks,

Rick

Re: Trolling Motor Setup Question

The plug and socket may have three terminals but I'll bet only two of them are actually used. Use a volt meter to determine which of the two terminals are used and wire the new plug accordingly. Go fishing.
