Does anyone have any experience with the factory recons from Minn-Kota? The shop here is selling them for way below new. The huy there assured me that they were just as good as a new motor. (of course, he's trying to sell me one)I'm a little leary about buying a reconditioned motor. Especially since it only comes with a 1-year warranty instead of the standard 2-year. Seems to me if it's as good as new, it should come with the same warranty as new.

Mac

I would trust it just as much as a new one, M&B.
A year is plenty of time to discover any flaws, and the prices are very good.

A lotta times the recons will be brand new motors that have been sent back for a part that was broke when bought new or some electrical part was bad. Like JB said Mac, a year is plenty of time to find any thing wrong with it.

THey only have a -armature, usually OK - speed switch, $.50 fact cost- O ring, $.005 fact cost - Brushes, usually ok- no cost. I would trust Minn Kota all the way.
