omc cobra trolling motor

I have a omc cobra trolling motor model #OBF2A. What is the thrust of this motor. Foot controlled 3 speeds. Thanks Jay

I would believe in the 30 to 32# range Jay. These were produced from 89' to 90'.

You are right on the year on a 1990 Javelin 353 30 -32 sound and seems right would not move boat on a windy day

The early OMC's didn't do much in the 12V range and 32lb. was about the best until you get to the 12/24v or straight 24v. I have a 24V Silent Start 5speed (which I wouldn't trade for nothin) mounted on a 16' StarCraft SuperSport. Sometimes I gotta put her on 4 or 5 to navigate wind, even though it's a 54lb thrust.....course the the boat is a high side boat. I would guess your Javelin would need something in the 45lb thrust area to handle wind...low profile boat but heavy. I also think that a 24V motor is the only way to go for larger boats.
