remote spotlight on nose of the boat will move to the left just fine. Coming back to the right it studders and clicks and sticks. I took it apart and looked inside, tightened all the screws I saw. The gears inside are plastic. They didn't looked stripped. Any suggestions on fixing this problem?

Re: remote spotlight

Was it binding up or did the case get hot? It most likely is the gears.

Re: remote spotlight

I’m thinking the same as Sloopy. I have never seen inside one of those things but when I hear “it studders and clicks and sticks”, my thought is something mechanical. This is the very symptom of stripped servo gears for those little rc cars. Turns one direction but “studders and clicks and sticks” when turning the other…that is exactly what they do with as little as a single tooth missing from a gear.

You might want to take another look at those gears. When you find the problem, please post back here with your results. I would be very interested in knowing what the cause was. Good luck!
