fishfinder question

Hi all,<br />I'm in the process of restoring a 15 footer trihull fiberglass boat for fishing. I dont' know much about fishfinders and was interested in know what component in a fishfinder are important and what are not. Also, will I need to put the tranducer in the hull under the floorboard? Thanks.

They are all important if you want it to work.<br /><br />Display unit, power wire, transducer and cable.<br /><br />I would mount the transducer at the bottom of the transom, on the outside. Its simple and straight forward.<br /><br /> But under floor/thru hull installations can be done, IF you get the right location.
