I have a 1959 35 hp. johnson. I want to install a tack to optimize the engine .It has electric start but no gen. I t has standard ignetion, points, con. camshaft timing. It appears the only tack avaiable are the ones you wrap a wire around one spark plug for the read out.any one had expierience with this type. Will it work with any no. of cly. motor (2 - 3 or 4 ).our they accruate or just another toy that may or maynot be at best a reference point but not the actual RPM>

Re: TACKOMETER ?????????

Those are "tiny tachs", and they do work pretty good. I've seen a lot of guys in this forum say they work fine. I have taken a couple of them apart in my shop, pretty neat little rigs. You have to specify the # of cylinders when you order the tach. www.tinytach.com
