I wouldn't use it. Odds are it will peel or crack over time from all the movement and foot traffic on the toon. It will also seal in any moisture and promote rot..

Rot is what I'm trying to stop??? I use the pontoon for a dock and I'm the only one using it 99% of the time. It's too difficult to replace the decking on a pontoon.. I'm going to try it and see, the supply house says don't look for the 12 year warranty on a job like this 5-7 years at the most???

Then use it. Sounds like you answered your own question.

I used a product from Rustoleum called Restore on a 8'x32' exposed section of our dock, but not on a pontoon boat. No, it doesn't cover as much as the literature says -- I think I used about 6 gallons applying 2 coats. It was only applied this past summer, but so far no issues and it looks pretty good.
