We got 6 inches of rain in 4 hours last Friday evening at the campground. This uncovered boat with no bilge pump didn't make it unfortunately. Boat was unregistered with the marina and the owner not traceable.
Will see if anyone came looking for it this weekend.

from the looks of that waterline, I'd say she didn't need too much coaxin' to head for the bottom

When I was growing up, bilge pumps weren't standard on many moored boats; we kept an eye on them and bailed or ran the water out after a rain. But we also would ride around the river after a big squall to see the sunken boats! And I'll confess our boats got caught a time or two, plus many close calls (including failed pumps).

Update. It was still in the compound at the campground and unclaimed. They have traced an owner by some paperwork found aboard and still legible but have failed so far to make any contact with them. Let's see what this weekend brings !!!!

My bet is "free boat" on craigslist with "motor ran well last time we used it"

ditto ... been runnin' tri-hulls for years. That one looks a lot like the one I had as a kid.

Forget aboot the cover and auto pump, that boat needs a full restoration and all the waterlogged floatation foam removed that made it sink.

For those of you riding around in old rotten boats, this is what happens when you get swamped... have fun swimming back to the launch!

Pretty common site around here also for this time of year. They are probably in the process of dismantling it and hauling it to dry land for winter.
