So this weekend I was picking up an 85 horse parts motor and the guy offered me the motor for $60, how could I say no?
Anyways, just going over the motor and I checked the compression, about 90/cylinder while cold. I just wanted to make sure that's within norm for this guy.

Thanks, boobie. Helpful as always!
I managed to get it started for about 20 seconds (after I swapped the QL77JC4 plugs that someone installed for J6C subbed from my 9.5 and adjusted the carb needles) but I believe she needs some carb work and definitely needs a fuel pump.

Also; the timing plate seems pretty loose. If I'm not holding the throttle lever in the Start position the whole plate will shift back down to Stop when I pull the rope. I'm assuming that's not normal.
