where is my serial number 92 40hp ? merc

Hi All can some one help with where my serial number is on my 40hp classic 92 merc i have found a plate on transom but it does not look or start like a serial number (09695151) is this it ? :confused: many thanks

many thanks for that but my motor is an 4cly and the list you sent i still can not see my motor on it
