ok i am trying to identify my engine, i was told it was a pre 73 by someone over the resto section. here are some pics.

With that motor cover and color it is a 1972 - the last of the electro-hydraulic shifting gearcases.

Check to top secret files at the beginning of this forum and look for salvage yards.

They also make jack plates with the tilt/trim built into them. Fast and easy to install.

Beats me, it's an easy way to convert an engine to power trim/tilt, didn't say it would be cheap:D.

yep i guess not, will keep my eyes open for one. but its not in the budget. hell i can replace the floor and foam it and may have enough for carpet instead of geting that. i was figuring im geting in age where i dont want to heff the motor up and down, have a pump do it

I have an original one that will fit that engine and I'll try to post up a picture tomorrow when I can get to it. I will tell you that even used these units are not cheap.
