I recently rescued a 1976 Sleecraft Aristocrat from what would have been sure doom. Had been sitting in the woods for about 10 years without attention. I am wondering if anyone has any information about a tag on the right upper of the transom. It reads SLEA101JM760 with the words PAT PEND under it. I am wondering if there were a bunch of boats built before a patent was secured?

The number on the transom is the HIN. I'm not sure about the patents. Some owners might have some sources I don't know about.

Go down to the boats section at the bottom of this site. Go to the site. There is a guy that has a mint, non restored hardtop in green/white with a 165 Mercruiser that may be able to help you. I had a neighbor back in the '60's with one and I drooled over it.
