o guys I have recently bought a 1979 115 mariner It had no prop when I bought it. I have been looking on craigslidt for a prop for it and I am not sure what is right. I have been told it needs a 19 pitch and I have been told the yamaha props will fit. Oh and It will be pushing a 19 foot 1972 browning/aerocraft tri hull. I know prop questions are like gearing questions when it comes to cars so I know this might be one of those opinion type threads but I just want to try to get the right set up the first time

What was on the boat before, and how did it work out. We need WOT rpm and gps speed, with a light load. I would say an 17 or 19 pitch. Im not sure about the yamie props. Here on IBoats you can get a new one Solas, for a good price to your door.

It appears the 78-83 Yamaha are the same number in the same pitch but the list of props is much shorter perhaps the Yamaha is a different gear ratio. Numerically lower? Perhaps someone knows what the gear ratio is.A 79 18 footer is about 1600 lbs.
I think a 19 footer could be about 1800 lbs If I had to guess I wouldn't go over a 17".

17 max, you might have to go with a 15
