I though id just share a little and show some pics for my install. There has been some debate on how and where you can mount you transducer on our Tahoe's with a sterndrive. Well im telling you it can be done and it was pretty simple. I was able to mount my transducer right next to the stern drive and have gotten great results. I use to have it epoxied in the bilge under the motor. I had a hard time getting good readings so I decide to go for it and install a dual band transducer on the transom. As yo can see where I have it mounted I get great readings slow, in reverse and while on plane ding about 35-40 MPH. I just though id share to give other an option to mounting their new sounder.

Great install, AgentJ. I was also considering changing my transducer to a better one but never thought about a dual band. Now, i'll look into it. Thanks for sharing.
