Blue and red networks are fully inter-connectable. In fact if you buy the micro-c red connector you can cut off the blue and replace it, or of course buy adapter cables for a higher price. For those brave enough you can buy a micro-c and a mini-c and wire them back to back making your own cross over. In simplest form crimp or wire nuts could connect a red to blue cable one form of NMEA connectors are 5 pin terminal blocks with set screws. There is no "MAGIC". The real points are making sure one back bone with a terminator on each end, all tees in the middle of it all. My boat has a 4 way tee on each end of a 20ft back bone cable, with the two terms on each end of tee block away from the back bone. With red to blue cross over make sure the tees are still one each end of the total (two tees). One should/could be on the blue end and one on the red but if one went from blue to red to blue again then the tees would be blue.
