Battery drains down after not using for a few weeks. This is on a 2006 Yamaha 50 HP 4 stroke. With the motor off and the key out of the ignition, I put a current meter in series with the charging wire and the battery pos terminal, I read 27 mA of DC current. I don't have the wiring diagram for this motor. Does this charge wire come directly from the rectifier? Could this be a diode with high leakage? Or just normal?

The best thing to do is install a night switch. Your battery may also be not holding a charge and may need replacing. The best way to tell if there is a draw on your battery is to disconnect the negative post/battery clamp and install a test light between the post and clamp and see if it lights up. If it does that means there a power draw. If there is start unplugging fuses on till the light goes out and that will lead you in the right direction.
