Pressure testing all 4 cavitys on a 140 hp stringer

Hello all
I have a Seaswirl302fthrcng 140 hp 3.0.
Had some shift cable issues not going into gear at helm
I found shift rack unscrewed
While lower unit is off i plan to pressure test upper / lower
Tilt and intermediate housings with 14 psi and check for
Leaks am i wasting time or is it a decient way to check all
Parts ?

I have never heard of anyone pressure testing the intermediate housing and the tilt box. I wouldn't bother. Any point of leakage in either of those cavities would be easily determined.

Test the upper and lower. Keep in mind that you will lose pressure out of the lower under the best of the circumstances. Air will escape thru the end of the shift cable, up inside the shift converter.
