checked the point like new 11.88 volts going to the amplifier checked the black and white 11.88 volts
but still no spark out of the coil is there a way to check the coil with a meter need the procedure or would a 1971
repair book work or any other hints

Unscrew the spark wire from the distributor cap and rig up a spark gap off the end of it and remount it. Now tap the black/white wire from the amplifier to ground (key on). Should produce a spark each time you break the connection. Or brush it lightly across ground and should get a flurry of sparks.

You can check the resistance of the coil's secondary between the spark wire and the ground wire. But I don't know what it should be. Primary winding's resistance will be very low, less than an ohm.

The instructions in the factory service manual are obsolete, so don't bother.
